The Harm Reduction International Conference, which is convened in a different city every two years, attracts over 1,000 international delegates and has been held in almost every region of the world. HR23 takes place in Melbourne, Australia, on 16-19 April 2023.

Returning to Australia for the first time in 19 years, the conference will be a unique opportunity showcase Melbourne’s incredible harm reduction programmes and the people who have made them possible, and also to push for further progress not just for the country, but for the region as a whole.

The conference theme, Strength in Solidarity, will underpin all HR23 activities and highlight the importance of our strength – as people, as a community, as a global movement – in sticking together.

The Public Health Institute Drug Related Deaths conference 2023 took place online Thursday 16th March 2023 via Microsoft Teams

The day was split into five sessions, with presentations and Q&A sessions from 14 great speakers.

Over 700 people attended online, a big thank you to everyone to attended, presented, and contributed during the day.

Links for PDF copies of presentations from the day are now available on the DRD conference page, as well as the recording from the morning sessions. There was some great discussion and networking taking place in the chat area, so we've also shared some resources mentioned during discussions too.

The very first Club Health conference was held in the world famous Cream nightclub, Liverpool in 1997. Following the success of the event, The 1st International Conference on Nightlife, Substance Use and Related Health Issues was held in Amsterdam in 1999. Club Health conferences have since been held bi-annually in Australia, North America and throughout Europe. The 12th International Club Health Conference on Nightlife, Substance Use and Related Health Issues returns to Liverpool in November 2023.
